Types of ID Verification

We routinely ask our influencers and game publishers to verify their identities to help protect our community and ensure that Indie Boost stays safe and secure. We verify identity in several ways:

Government ID Verification

You may be asked to upload a government-issued ID to confirm your identity on Indie Boost. In most cases, we’ll be able to verify your identity within minutes. In other cases, we may need more information from you, or ask you to briefly video chat with an Indie Boost agent. We aim to respond to all inquiries within one business day.

Documents Required

You will need to take a picture of your government-issued ID in order to verify your identity. The acceptable forms of ID vary by country and will be listed on the form.

This ID must include your picture, signature, name, date of birth, and address, with the exception of passports, which don't need your address
Acceptable documents include passport, national ID card (NIC/CNIC), driver's license, NBI Clearance (Philippines only), tax ID, voter ID, postal ID, or any other valid government-issued photo ID that meets these criteria

Note that we cannot accept:

Student IDs, employee IDs, library cards, handwritten IDs, temporary IDs, photocopied IDs, military IDs, and health cards

* Don't crop, rotate, touch up, adjust colors, or alter the images in any way.

Tips for taking a photo of your government ID

Take a photo of the front of your ID, without flash
Capture the image from above, with your ID on a flat surface
Ensure all four corners of your ID are showing
Take the photo in color (at least 200 dpi)
Send in your photo in PNG, JPEG, PDF, or BMP format

Location + Government ID Verification

You will need to scan two documents in order to verify your identity. Don't crop, rotate, touch up, adjust colors, or alter the images in any way.

Indie Boost will review your uploaded items to verify your identity. This usually takes 48 hours. Indie Boost will notify you when we complete the review. In addition to the ID/statement used in this initial review, we may require you to submit additional documentation or a short video. In some cases, it may also be necessary to contact you for a live video call.

Documents Required

Your current, valid government-issued photo ID

This ID must include your picture, signature, name, date of birth, and address, with the exception of passports, which don't need your address
Acceptable documents include passport, national ID card (NIC/CNIC), driver's license, NBI Clearance (Philippines only), tax ID, voter ID, postal ID, or any other valid government-issued photo ID that meets these criteria
Even when issued by a government agency, we can't accept documents such as student IDs, employee IDs, and library cards
Don't crop, rotate, touch up, adjust colors, or alter the images in any way.

A recent billing statement

Includes your name and address as well as the utility/bank address
The dates on your scanned statement must be within six months of the date you upload them
Acceptable documents include bank statements, credit card statements, utility bills, or any other monthly bill that meets the name, address, and date criteria above
Your name on the statement must match both your verified name on Indie Boost and your government ID. Your account may be a joint account, but your name must be on the account and statement
Your address must match the location information you entered on Indie Boost
Don't crop, rotate, touch up, adjust colors, or alter the images in any way

Image Guidelines

Requirements for ID/statement image

Do not edit the image in any way
We must be able to clearly see the front of your ID. If the expiration date is on the back of your photo ID, then you should send us a scan of the back of the card, as well
Your name and address, and the utility company or bank address information must be visible on the billing statement you submit
All four corners of your ID/statement need to be visible in the image
Images should be in color and at least 200 dpi
Please provide a PNG, JPEG, PDF, or BMP file

Tips for taking a photo of your ID/statement

Take the photo from above, with the ID/statement lying on a flat surface
Don’t use a flash
Don’t cover up any part of the ID/statement
Leave margins on all sides of the image prior to capture

Your Indie Boost profile must match your verification information

Indie Boost profile picture and ID picture must both be of you (they don’t need to be the same photo)
Indie Boost profile address must match your address on your ID and statement
Your Indie Boost verified name must match the name on your ID

Reasons you could be asked to verify your identity

To determine ownership of an account (including the U.S. Government Know Your Customer (KYC) compliance program)
To confirm your location to qualify for location-specific jobs
To resume your account
As well as for other reasons that Indie Boost may deem appropriate to maintain the integrity of the marketplace

Unable to verify

If you’ve received a notification that verifying your identity is required and you're unable to verify your identity, you may not be able to continue working through Indie Boost. That means contracts will be paused, withdrawals will not be allowed, and funds would be returned to your clients.

*** Deliberately uploading falsified documentation is a crime and violators will be permanently suspended. Indie Boost may report users who attempt to send fake or falsified documents. This is why it’s so important you don’t crop, rotate, touch up, adjust colors, or alter the images in any way.
